SL v AUS 2022: WATCH- David Warner gets hit in unmentionables by a flying bail in a bizarre incident  

Australia won the first Test of the two-match series in Galle.

David Warner | TwitterAustralia opener David Warner found himself getting injured in a bizarre way on the 3rd day of the first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle, which the visitors won comfortably by 10 wickets. And with this, they made the first move in the two-match Test series.

Nathan Lyon starred with the ball as he picked 9 wickets in the match, following his fifer in the first innings, with 4/31 in the second do as Sri Lanka was bowled out for 113 runs. Apart from Lyon, Travis Head also opened his account in Tests, with figures of 4/10, while Mitchell Swepson took 2 wickets.

However, during the 23rd over of the innings, bowler Travis Head beat Jeffrey Vandersay's inside edge as the ball hit the stumps, as the Aussie picked his third wicket of the innings.

However, Warner, who was stationed at leg-slip was unaware that the ball had clipped the bails and flew towards him. He caught the ball, but in a bizarre sequence of events, one of the bails had also flown towards him and hit him square in the crotch.

This left Warner writhing in pain on the ground, while his teammates celebrated the wicket.

A Twitter user shared the video of the incident and Warner quoted the tweets saying: “Oh dear, well bowled Heady but my Jatz cracker.”

Warner's fellow Australia teammate Marnus Labsuchagne also poked fun at the opener, writing, “how are we feeling @davidwarner31,” using a number of laughing emojis.
