“Super friendship”- Ex-RCB boss Vijay Mallya shares pic with Chris Gayle; Twitterverse reacts

Mallya owned the RCB franchise, while Gayle played for RCB from 2011 to 2017.

Vijay Mallya woke the social media up after he shared a photo with West Indian cricketer Chris Gayle when the two met in London. Both Gayle and Mallya have an RCB connection as Mallya used to own the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gayle had his best time in the IPL with the franchise.

He played for the team from 2011-2017 and in the midst, dominated the league during his stay at the RCB and smashed 3420 runs in 91 games at an average of 43.29 and strike rate of 154.40, including 21 fifties and 5 centuries. He also scored the highest ever T20, and IPL individual score of 175* for RCB against Pune Warriors India.

"Great to catch up with my good friend Christopher Henry Gayle @henrygayle, the Universe Boss. Super friendship since I recruited him for RCB. Best acquisition of a player ever,” Mallya wrote in his tweet, which has gone viral.

Mallya had been declared a fugitive by the Indian government and has been living in London after running away from India after defrauding 17 banks to the tune of INR 9,000 crores, apart from cases of money laundering on him. There is a case going on in a London court for his deportation to India.
