England batter Joe Root was the toast of his team's first innings in the second Test against New Zealand at Nottingham. Along with Ollie Pope, Root had put England in a very good position in response to BlackCaps’ first innings score of 553.
While Ollie Pope fell for 145 on day three, hitting 13 fours and 3 sixes in his knock and adding 187 runs with Joe Root, the former England captain continued his golden run and added another century to his name, his second in the ongoing series.

He eventually got out for 176 with 26 fours and 1 six to his name, but during his knock, he played an amazing reverse ramp shot to delivery by Tim Southee. Southee and Boult started proceedings for the Kiwis on day 4. Southee came on to bowl the third over of the day.
Joe Root was on strike for the first delivery, and fearlessly reverse scooped the ace New Zealand pacer for a six, in what can only be described as an unbelievable shot.
