India pacer Deepak Chahar tied the marriage knot with his fiancee Jaya Bhardwaj on Thursday (June 1). A couple of days after the wedding, Chahar organised a reception in Delhi, where his teammates and friends marked their presence.
Chahar's India and CSK teammates were present at the reception. Former CSK vice-captain Suresh Raina, Piyush Chawla and Robin Uthappa were spotted in the ceremony.
While Uthappa played for CSK in the IPL 2022 edition, Raina and Chawla went unsold at the mega auction. Both the former CSK players performed commentary duties in the recently held season.
Indian players such as Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shardul Thakur, Ambati Rayudu, Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh were also in attendance at the reception.
Notably, Deepak Chahar had proposed Jaya Bhardwaj at the end of CSK’s last league match in the IPL 2021 season.
Deepak couldn’t take part in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League due to a back injury. After suffering a quadriceps injury during the T20I series between India and the West Indies in February, the Indian quick was recovering at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, where he sustained a back injury during the rehab.
