ENG v NZ 2022: WATCH – Young fan mimicks Kane Williamson's strokeplay with a mini-bat at Lord’s

The young fan got the opportunity to witness Williamson honing his skills in the nets.

On Friday (June 3), Lord's Cricket Ground shared a glimpse of Williamson’s popularity through a clip on Twitter, in which a young fan can be seen imitating the New Zealand captain during a training session at the iconic venue.

The Kiwis are currently facing England in the first Test at Lord’s and the young fan named Tom got the opportunity to witness Williamson honing his skills in the nets.

Tom was seen copying Williamson's strokeplay with a mini-bat in the video uploaded by the official account of Lord's Cricket Ground.

"Some wholesome content. Young cricket fan Tom watching and playing every Kane Williamson shot in the nets," the caption of the video read.

Coming to the Lord’s Test, the visitors are currently in a strong position. At the close of play on Day 2, the Kane Williamson-led side is on 236/4 in the second innings, extending the lead to 227 runs with Daryl Mitchell (97*) and Tom Blundell (90*) unbeaten in the middle.

Earlier, the Kiwis bowled out the hosts for a paltry 141, limiting the first-innings lead to only 9 runs. The veteran pace duo of Tim Southee (4-55) and Trent Boult (3-21) starred with the ball for New Zealand, sharing seven scalps between them.
