England had a fine start to their international home season, which kick-started on Thursday (2nd June) with the first Test against New Zealand at Lord’s.

It was an exhibition of high-class bowling by English bowlers on Day 1 of the Test match as the likes of James Anderson, debutant Matty Potts, Stuart Broad and Ben Stokes combined to bundle out the Black Caps for just 132 runs.

While Anderson and Potts took 4 wickets each, Broad and Stokes shared two wickets between them to help England skittle out New Zealand.

After Anderson removed Will Young (1) and Tom Latham (1) in his first spell, Broad joined the party too and he removed Devon Conway for just 3 runs. The pacer bowled a fullish delivery in the sixth stump channel line to which the southpaw tried to poke at but was caught by Jonny Bairstow at third slip.

As Broad removed Conway, Australian opener David Warner came up with a hilarious post and said, "Devon Conway I feel your pain.”

To the reference, Warner has struggled against the Broad. The pacer was all over him during the Ashes 2019. He dismissed the southpaw seven times in 10 innings. The Australian opener had a forgetful series and managed to score only 95 runs. Overall, the lanky pacer has dismissed Warner 14 times in Tests.

Coming to the match between England and New Zealand, after the hosts bundled out the visitors for 132 runs, they had a solid 59 runs opening partnership but after that, they suffered a massive collapse and were reduced to 116/7 at Stumps on Day 1.
