In the ongoing County Championship Division Two, Team India batter Cheteshwar Pujara has been scoring runs left, right, and center for his county side Sussex.

Pujara has four centuries in as many games for Sussex this season, and he is presently second on the list of leading run scorers with 717 runs, just behind Durham's Sean Dickson, who has 729 runs in nine innings.

Pujara extended his excellent form against Middlesex in his team's fifth game of the championship, scoring 170* after a pair of double centuries and a hundred.

But it wasn't enough for Sussex to win the game, as they suffered their third loss in five games and remain winless in the tournament after two games were tied.

After declaring on 335/4, Sussex set a daunting goal of 370 runs for Middlesex on the fourth day, thanks to Pujara's unbeaten 170 and Tom Clark's 70-run innings.

Middlesex, on the other hand, rose to the occasion, thanks to skipper Peter Handscomb's 79 and opener Sam Robson's 149, laying the groundwork for the likes of Max Holden and Martin Andersson to chase down the mark. Holden (80 off 76) and Andersson (44 off 39) eventually helped Middlesex accomplish the mark, and Sussex were defeated.

Pujara took to Instagram after the game to post a touching video of sharing a ritual with his daughter, and also expressed disappointment with the loss.

Pujara shared a video of high-fiving his daughter before going to their dressing room after Sussex declared the innings and he returned unbeaten.

"Not the result we wanted but we'll come back stronger @sussexccc. P.S: Swipe to see my post batting ritual," Pujara wrote.
