Twitterati irked as Iceland Cricket names Virat Kohli 12th man in their all-time Test XI for India

Fans were also not happy with Iceland Cricket naming Rahul Dravid as captain of the side.

Virat Kohli | GettyIceland Cricket's on-field presence may not have made much news but they are a hit among cricket fans on social media for their humorous posts.

On Tuesday (April 12), however, their Twitter handle triggered the Indian fans after they named former skipper Virat Kohli as a 12th man in their all-time Test XI for India.

Kohli is widely regarded as one of the best batters in modern-day cricket. He has featured in 101 Tests so far, amassing 8043 runs at 49.95 with 27 hundreds and 28 half-centuries.

Despite an impressive record, Iceland Cricket excluded Kohli from India's best ever Test XI and picked him as a 12th man.

“Resuming our series on best ever XIs, today it's the Indian Test team: Gavaskar, Sehwag, Dravid (c), Tendulkar, Hazare, MS Dhoni (w), Kapil Dev, Ashwin, Kumble, Srinath, Bumrah. 12th man: Kohli, 13th man: Chandrasekhar, 14th man: Jadeja, 15th man: Z Khan, 16th man: Laxman, 17th man: H Singh,” Iceland Cricket tweeted.

The omission of Virat Kohli didn’t only irk the fans but naming Rahul Dravid captain also made them furious.

Notably, Kohli is India’s most successful Test captain statically, leading the country to 40 wins from Tests before stepping down from the position earlier this year. On the other hand, Dravid captained India in 25 Tests, registering 8 wins and 6 defeats.
