Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Rajasthan Royals (RR) welcomed the Lucknow-based team to Twitter with a meme from Aamir Khan-starrer movie, PK. The new IPL franchise from Lucknow haven't named the team or unveiled their logo yet.

On Monday (January 3), the franchise posted a tweet and wrote, "Swaagat nahi karoge hamara?". The tweet also attached a picture welcoming the fans to their Twitter account. "Welcome to the official Twitter profile of Lucknow IPL team," it read.

Rajasthan Royals engaged in banter with them and asked them to show the verification tick for confirmation. “Kahi yeh wrong number toh nahi? (What if it’s a wrong number)," they wrote.

The Lucknow franchise was bought by RP Sanjiv Goenka Group (RPSG) last year for approximately ₹7000 crore (over 932 million USD). They have already appointed former Zimbabwe captain Andy Flower as the head coach, and former Indian batter Gautam Gambhir as their mentor.

In IPL 2016 and 2017, the RPSG group had owned the Rising Pune Supergiant team. They were successful in reaching the final of IPL 2017, after failing to make it to the playoffs in IPL 2016.
