Cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir posted a picture of himself with a big smile and added a witty caption on it. Gambhir has been roped as a mentor of the Lucknow franchise for the upcoming IPL season.
Gambhir posted the picture and wrote the caption in the context of Lucknow's tagline, “Smile, you are in Lucknow”. "Ab Lucknow mein aaye toh muskurayenge hi!", he wrote on Instagram.

The Member of Parliament had thanked the owner of the Lucknow franchise, Sanjiv Goenka for including him in the franchise. "It’s a privilege to be in the contest again. Thanks, Dr.Goenka for incl me in #LucknowIPLTeam as its mentor. The fire to win still burns bright inside me, the desire to leave a winner’s legacy still kicks me. I won’t be contesting for a dressing room but for the spirit & soul of UP," he had tweeted.
Goenka said that Gambhir, who led Kolkata Knight Riders to a couple of IPL title wins, will play a motivational role in the team. He further added that Gambhir will help the franchise to create a blueprint in the long run.
"Gautam will primarily have a motivational role to play. He will also help to create a blueprint for the franchise in the long term. We wanted to have people with a proven track record of success. Gautam has also successfully groomed a generation of youngsters for KKR and that went in his favour,” he said.
