South Africa wrist-spinner Tabraiz Shamsi lauded India's Test captain Virat Kohli for his fiery press conference on Wednesday (December 15). Kohli was bold with his answers and he addressed the matter on ODI captaincy, while denying rumors of any rift with Rohit Sharma.

Kohli said that there was a lack of communication with the selectors over the ODI captaincy change and he revealed they only informed him about their decision during the meeting. He also said nobody asked him not to quit T20I captaincy when he decided to step down from the role in September.

Earlier, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had said that he personally requested Kohli not to give up the T20I captaincy. But the statement from the Indian stalwart has contradicted his claim.

A Twitter user wrote that Kohli could have played it safe and narrated Ganguly's version of the story, but he chose not to as he isn't that kind of a person. Shamsi agreed with the fan and quoted his tweet while praising Kohli for his boldness.

"This is why he is as good as he is," wrote Shamsi on Twitter. Kohli also denied the reports of him missing the ODI series against South Africa and said he is available for selection.
