India's Test captain Virat Kohli got praised on social media for his press conference on Wednesday (December 15). He answered questions on his removal from ODI captaincy and lack of communication with the selectors.

Kohli revealed that the selectors hadn't informed him about their decision before and he only got to know about the captaincy change during the meeting. He also said nobody asked him not to quit T20I captaincy when he decided to step down from the role in September.

Earlier, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had said that he personally requested Kohli not to give up the T20I captaincy. But the statement from the Indian stalwart has contradicted his claim.

"I was contacted one and a half hours before the selection meeting on the 8th for the Test series and there was no prior communication to me at all," Kohli told reporters ahead of the team's departure for South Africa.

"Before ending the call I was told that the five selectors had decided that I would not be the ODI captain, to which I replied, 'ok fine'," he added.

Kohli also denied the reports of him missing the ODI series against South Africa and Twitterati applauded him for coming out and clearing everything from his side.
