Yuvraj Singh turns 40; gets wishes from the Indian cricket fraternity

Regarded as one of the greatest white-ball batters produced by India, Yuvraj Singh was part of India’s two World Cup wins in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup.

The Punjab-born left-hander played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs, and 58 T20Is for the Indian team in a career that spanned from 2000-2017. He made 1900 Test, 8701 ODIs, and 1177 T20I runs with a total of 17 centuries to his name.

He is widely regarded as one of the all-time greatest ODI batsmen of his era. His life is an inspiration for all given that he beat cancer to make a comeback into the Indian team. The left-hander had won the Man of the Tournament in the 2011 World Cup which was won by India.

The cricketer called time on his career in 2020 and has since appeared in Canada T20 League and the Abu Dhabi T10 league as well. He was one of the best players and at one time one of the most expensive players in the Indian Premier League as well.

He made 2750 runs in 132 IPL matches at a strike rate of 129.71 and made 13 half-centuries. His highest score was 83 and he hit 217 fours and 149 sixes in his IPL career. He also picked two hat-tricks in the IPL 2009, becoming the first bowler to do so in one edition of the tournament.
