India all-rounder Shardul Thakur on Monday (November 29) got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Mittali Parulkar in Mumbai.

The engagement function was reportedly held at the Mumbai Cricket Association’s facility and 75 guests marked their presence in it. The wedding ceremony is likely to be held next year after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup.

“There is a small engagement function at the Mumbai Cricket Association’s facility in BKC on Monday, for which he has invited 75-odd guests-mostly close friends and family members. The wedding is likely to take place after the T20 World Cup in Australia next year," TOI quoted a source as saying.

Shardul, who was part of the England tour, the second half of IPL 2021 and the T20 World Cup 2021 squad, is currently enjoying a break from the game. He has been rested from the ongoing home series against New Zealand to manage his workload.

Thakur is expected to be picked for the South Africa tour, which will get underway on December 17 in Johannesburg.

Shardul Thakur has represented India in 4 Tests, 15 ODIs and 24 T20Is so far, claiming 67 wickets and scoring 366 runs across formats.
