"This hurts my heart," Kohli shares emotional post on De Villiers' retirement

India's ODI and Test captain Virat Kohli has posted a couple of emotional tweets for his friend and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate AB de Villiers, who announced his retirement on Friday (November 19). De Villiers and Kohli built a very strong bonding while playing for RCB in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Kohli called De Villiers 'the best player of our times' while writing a heartfelt message for his buddy. He was hurt with the thought of not getting to bat with him anymore, but the former RCB captain accepted that it's the right decision for him and his family.

"To the best player of our times and the most inspirational person I've met, you can be very proud of what you've done and what you've given to RCB my brother. Our bond is beyond the game and will always be.

"This hurts my heart but I know you've made the best decision for yourself and your family like you've always done. ????I love you ???? @ABdeVilliers17," tweeted Kohli.

Responding to the tweets, De Villiers replied, "Love you too my brother". The duo of Kohli and De Villiers was the backbone of RCB and the fans loved to watch them bat together.

Kohli made another post on his Instagram account and acknowledged De Villiers' contribution to RCB. He called himself the number fan of the South African batter and ended the caption by tagging De Villiers as 'Great of All Times'.

"You've given everything to RCB and I know that in my heart. What you mean to this franchise and to me cannot be put into words. The Chinnaswamy Stadium will miss cheering for you and I'm going to miss playing alongside you my brother. I love you and I'll always be your number 1 fan.
