T20 World Cup 2021: Babar Azam responds to a heartfelt letter by an 8-year-old Pakistan cricket fan

Pakistan reached semi-final in the T20 World Cup 2021 and got knocked out by Australia.

Pakistan cricket team got knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2021 after losing the semi-final against Australia by 5 wickets on Thursday (November 11). They hadn't entered the tournament with much hype but did display good cricket in the Super 12 stage.

The Babar Azam-led side started their campaign with a win over arch-rivals India and they remained unbeaten in the Super 12. Although the team couldn't lift the trophy, the Pakistan cricket fans are still satisfied with their overall performance.

Pakistan's captain Babar received a heartfelt letter from an 8-year-old fan after their loss in the semi-final. The fan, who wants to be Pakistan cricket team captain in the future, wrote that he's proud of the team and admired their performance.

Babar reacted to the letter which was shared by a Pakistan journalist Alina Shigri on Twitter. "Dear Pakistani team. I am very proud, I love you Babar Azam. Well played everyone… nice batting, bowling. Yesterday in the match, I felt proud that Pakistan is going to win. Then in the middle, I was nervous and in the end I was frightened. Inshallah, in the future, we will win be captain and I will make sure to invite all of your team to my team. We will go the finals.

"Dear Babar, Please on a paper, can you write all your team members signatures and send them to my house please," the letter read.

Responding to the tweet, Babar replied, "Dear Mohammad Haroon Suria, Salam. Thank you for such a kind letter for us, champion.

"I ABSOLUTELY believe in you and you can achieve anything with your focus, belief, and hard work. You will get your autographs but I can’t wait to get YOUR autograph future Captain."
