India captain Virat Kohli's knock of unbeaten 82 against Australia in the 2016 T20 World Cup has been picked as the ‘Greatest Moment’ in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup history following a poll. It is among the finest knocks by Kohli in T20Is and he had managed to take India to a win in a ‘do or die’ clash.

Kohli's innings was up against West Indies batter Carlos Brathwaite's heroic cameo against England in the final of the same edition. Brathwaite had hit four consecutive sixes in the final over to secure West Indies' second T20 World Cup title.

But fans preferred Kohli's knock and he won the contest by 68 percent of the votes. "Virat Kohli’s brilliant 82* against Australia from the 2016 #T20WorldCup has been crowned as our @postpeapp Greatest Moments winner ????," wrote ICC on Twitter.

The iconic innings came on March 27, 2016, when Kohli was at his best while chasing 161 runs. India won the match by six wickets and Kohli was picked as the Player of the Match.

"This innings has to be in the top three. But I am a bit emotional, so I will put this on top. Against world-class Australia, a quarterfinal, and at home. Mohali has always been special and the semi-final (against Pakistan) in 2011 was special too," Kohli had said after the knock.
