West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle quipped on Saturday (September 18) that he's going to visit Pakistan on Sunday. His tweet came after the New Zealand cricket team abandoned their Pakistan tour minutes before the first ODI citing security reasons.

Gayle, who's currently in the United Arab Emirates for Indian Premier League stint with Punjab Kings (PBKS), wrote, "I’m going to Pakistan tomorrow, who coming with me? ????????????". His light-hearted tweet also received a reaction from the Pakistan cricketers.

Pakistan Cricket Board had released a statement regarding New Zealand's decision to postpone the tour. They were surprised to see the Kiwis not agreeing to continue the tour despite Prime Minister Imran Khan assuring them of safety.

“Pakistan Cricket Board and Pakistan Government made foolproof security arrangements for all visiting teams. We have assured New Zealand Cricket of the same. The Pakistan Prime Minister spoke personally to the Prime Minister of New Zealand and informed her that we have one of the best intelligence systems in the world and that no security threat of any kind exists for the visiting team.”

The statement further added, “PCB is willing to continue the scheduled matches. “However, cricket lovers in Pakistan and around the world will be disappointed by this last-minute withdrawal. is in danger of being canceled after the first match of the ODI series could not begin on time on Friday at the Pindi stadium.”
