The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced an additional Player of the Month award on Monday (September 13). They named a small furry who had invaded the pitch during All-Ireland T20 Women's Cup match for the special award.
The apex body posted a picture of the dog on Twitter with the 'ICC Dog of the Month | Special award' added on it. They also mentioned the dog as 'the best fielder in Ireland cricket'.

"We have an additional Player of the Month winner this time," wrote ICC on Twitter after the video of the pitch invasion went viral.
The netizens had called it the cutest pitch invasion and they wouldn't complain even if it is repeated. The incident happened during the 9th over of the match when the batting side needed 27 runs to win in 21 deliveries.
Interestingly, the dog soon ran with the ball towards the batter who held the dog in her arms while all the players laughed about it.
It was England captain Joe Root who got the ICC Men's Player of the Month for August 2021 for being a consistent performer in the first three Tests against India, which were part of the ICC World Test Championship.
In the women's category, Ireland's Eimear Richardson was adjudged the ICC Women's Player of the Month for August 2021.
