India captain Virat Kohli, who used to smash hundreds for fun, hasn't been able to score a hundred this year yet. Last year was also affected by COVID-19 and Kohli's 70th international century came in the pink-ball Test at Eden Gardens against Bangladesh, way back in November 2019.
Fans are eager for Kohli's 71st century and every time he gets off to a good start, his admirers start hoping for that three-figure score they have been waiting to see for a long time.

Recently, a fan wished for AB de Villiers' reply on Twitter and Kohli's 71st hundred. De Villiers fulfilled his first wish by responding to the tweet and he also kept his fingers crossed for the 71st hundred of his close friend and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate.
"Maybe @ABdeVilliers17 's reply and @imVkohli 's 71st century!!!!!!," a fan tweeted responding to a question by Myntra on Twitter. "One done, now for the other????," wrote De Villiers in reply.
De Villiers and Kohli will reunite in the upcoming days as the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) resumes in UAE on September 19.
