Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer wished ex-England captain Michael Vaughan a happy friendship day on Sunday (August 1). He posted a tweet on the occasion of friendship day and cheekily tagged the Englishman.
Jaffer and Vaughan have often engaged in banter on social media during India's matches and hence, many found the tweet a bit sarcastic. "Happy friendship day @MichaelVaughan #FriendshipDay," he wrote on Twitter.

When Vaughan had made a controversial statement against Virat Kohli, Jaffer had responded with a hilarious one-liner in Hindi. "If Kane Williamson was Indian, he would be the greatest player in the world," the Englishman had said, suggesting that Kohli gets all the praise only because of his huge fanbase.
Jaffer didn't agree with Vaughan and he had posted a tweet that read, "Extra ungli Hrithik ke paas hai par karta Michael Vaughan hai #ViratKohli #KaneWilliamson." Vaughan didn't stop there and jokingly replied, "I presume you are agreeing with me Wasim !!".
But it's not always banter from both sides. Recently, when Jaffer was appointed as Odisha's coach for two domestic seasons starting from 2021-22, Vaughan reacted by asking, "Does he need an assistant?".
