One of the most celebrated artistic gymnasts, Simone Biles, decided to prioritize mental health over the Olympics. She withdrew from the final of the individual all-around gymnastics competition at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics.

India cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri posted a tweet and applauded Biles' decision. He also tagged Japan's professional tennis player, Naomi Osaka, and wrote that they both owe no explanations to anyone.

"Take your time @Simone_Biles . You have earned the right to owe it to yourself at this tender age. 48 hours or 48 days it might take. Just do it Champion," he wrote.

"You owe no explanation to no one. @naomiosaka , you too. God bless you girls #Olympics," Shastri further added.

Earlier, celebrities such as Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, and Alia Bhatt also extended support to the USA artistic gymnast.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday (July 27), Biles said, “I say put mental health first because if you don’t then you’re not going to enjoy your sport and you’re not going to succeed as much as you want to.

“So it’s OK sometimes to even sit out the big competitions to focus on yourself because it shows how strong of a competitor and person that you really are, rather than just battle through it.”
