The openers Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal were expected to do well but Rohit fell cheaply for 9 runs, caught by Jack Carson off Lyndon James. Rohit tried to pull a short ball, which took the top edge and was caught nicely by Carson while running backward.

Mayank was looking good, as he is probably auditioning for the role of Rohit Sharma’s partner in the upcoming five-Test series against England. However, after making 28 in 35 balls with 6 fours to his name. Mayank got an inswinger from James, which he completely missed while playing a forward defensive shot and had his stumps disturbed.

At the time of writing this article, Indians were 70/3 in 25 overs, with Cheteshwar Pujara falling for 21 runs to Jack Carson.
