WATCH - Sachin Tendulkar cheers for Indian athletes ahead of Tokyo Olympics 2020

BCCI asked countrymen to join Tendulkar and cheer for India at Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Monday (July 19) cheered for the Indian athletes heading the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and also backed the Indian athletes to give their best at the upcoming Games, which will be held from July 23 to August 8 in Tokyo.

Wishing India’s Olympics-bound contingent best for the Tokyo Olympics 2020, the legendary batsman shared few words for the athletes to encourage them and urged the countrymen to cheer for India.

In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Tendulkar said he knows the athletes are preparing to give their best at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and urged people to cheer for them. He also spoke about the challenges faced by an athlete during his or her journey in the video.

The BCCI captioned the video by saying: “The legendary @sachin_rt is cheering for our Indian athletes at @Tokyo2020. Let's join him & #Cheer4India.”

Earlier, India captain Virat Kohli and women's team captain Mithali Raj joined the Cheer For India campaign by the BCCI who extended monetary support of Rs 10 crore for the Olympics.

Noteworthy, India has the biggest Olympics contingent with a total of 120 athletes for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 where the ace India boxer Mary Kom and hockey captain Manpreet Singh will be the flag bearers of the Indian contingent in the opening ceremony.
