Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi responded to a journalist named Ihtisham Ul Haq who tweeted that Pakistan fans are missing him in the first T20I against England. The journo posted a picture of a fan wearing Pakistan cricket team jersey with Afridi's name and number 10.
Afridi replied to the tweet and said the Pakistan team doesn't need him after a tremendous batting performance at Trent Bridge on Friday (July 16). Pakistan smashed 232/6 in 20 overs and restricted England to 201 to win the match by 31 runs.
"Thank you but I think I am not needed today!! ???? enough of BOOM BOOM 232 for 6 ????????," wrote Afridi on Twitter after Pakistan's innings.
Skipper Babar Azam was the top scorer for Pakistan with a 49-ball 85 runs knock. But the Player-of-the-Match was Shaheen Afridi, who bagged three wickets in 3.2 overs.
England's Liam Livingstone smashed a hundred in the run-chase but he received no support from the other end. The only other batsman to cross the 30-run mark was Jason Roy (32).
Pakistan cricket team was under huge pressure after getting whitewashed by England's second-string team. But a win in the first T20I match must have taken off some pressure.
