ENG v IND 2021: India to play Select Counties XI side in a warm-up three-day game at Durham

Team India is preparing for the Test series set to begin from 4 August.

India is scheduled to play a three-day warm-up match against Select Counties XI which will include players from various counties. The match will be played at Riverside Ground, Durham, and will start on 20 July at 11 a.m. GMT (3:30 p.m. IST).

Durham Cricket County Club also announced that that match will be awarded the First-Class status.

"The world number two Test side will use Emirates Riverside as a home venue for their preparations this summer, and will get underway with a three-day game against a county select on Tuesday, 20 July at 11 am," said Durham.

"The three-day game will see a number of players from the county circuit feature as they go up against the Indian national side," it added. 

A total of 90 overs will be bowled each day and Durham Cricket is set to broadcast the game on their YouTube channel. The match, however, will be played behind closed doors. Team India is scheduled to travel to Durham today where they will prepare for the practice match. 

The five-match Test series between England and India will start with the first Test to be played at the Trent Bridge ground in Nottingham. The second Test will be played from August 12 at Lord’s, the third Test match will be played from August 25 at Leeds, the fourth Test will be played at the Oval from September 2nd and the last and fifth Test will be played in Manchester from September 10.
