Former India batsman Wasim Jaffer posted a tweet on England football team manager Gareth Southgate after they lost the Euro 2020 final. England's long wait for a title win continued after Italy beat them 3-2 on penalties at Wembley on Sunday (July 11).
The Azzuri ended their 53-year-long wait for the European Championship title. Jaffer compared Southgate with Shah Rukh Khan's role in the movie Chak de India and wrote the result would have been different if it was a film.

"Only if it was a Bollywood movie ???? #EURO2020 #GarethSouthgate #Italy #ItsGoingRome ????," wrote Jaffer while posting a collage picture with Southgate and Shah Rukh's photo.
Like the character of Shah Rukh in the movie Chak de India, Southgate had also missed the decisive penalty when England were knocked out in the 1996 semi-final at Wembley. But his dreams were not fulfilled after England failed to win the penalty shootout.
Apart from their second European Championship title, Italy also continued their winning run to a record-stretching 34 games and finished the tournament unbeaten.
