Ben Stokes smashes Carlos Brathwaite for 16 runs in an over; Twitterati react

Twitterati jokingly tweeted Ben Stokes "remembered the name" for too long.

England's Ben Stokes came one-on-one against West Indies' Carlos Brathwaite once again but this time the latter was on receiving end. Back in the 2016 T20 World Cup final, Stokes was hit for four consecutive sixes by Brathwaite in the last over to win the title.

But in their recent clash during the Vitality Blast 2021, Stokes, playing for Durham, smashed Birmingham Bears' Brathwaite for 16 runs in an over. It was the 6th over of the Durham innings when he smashed two sixes and a four.

Twitterati recalled their face-off from 2016 and tweeted that Stokes actually 'remembered the name' of Brathwaite to take revenge. However, it wasn't actually revenge considering the contrast between this match and the 2016 T20 World Cup final. 

Also, Brathwaite later managed to get Stokes out in the match on a score of 35. The Caribbean cricketer picked up three wickets in the match, although his side ended up on the losing side. Durham won the match by 34 runs and Stokes was adjudged Player-of-the-Match.
