England clean-swept Sri Lanka 3-0 to win the three-match T20I series at home. Former Sri Lanka explosive batsman Sanath Jayasuriya is not pleased with the terrible outing of his national team.
Sri Lanka had no chance against the English side who won all three matches with a convincing margin. In the third T20I, played on Saturday (June 26), the Kusal Perera-led side were bowled out on a paltry 91 runs and England won the match by 89 runs.
The visitors were not looking comfortable against the England bowling attack and they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Sri Lanka collapsed to 64/8 in 15 overs from 53/4 after 10 overs.
Jayasuriya posted a tweet and wrote that it's a very bad day for Sri Lankan cricket. He added that the Sri Lanka cricket board needs to do something urgently to revive their cricket.
"Very sad day for Sri Lankan cricket. The situation is critical. We need immediate measures to save cricket," Jayasuriya wrote on Twitter.
