England all-rounder Ben Stokes made his return to competitive cricket after breaking his finger during the IPL 2021. He played the Vitality T20 Blast match for Durham against Birmingham Bears on June 20, 2021.
The match was played at Chester-Le-Street and saw Durham captain Cameron Bancroft winning the toss and choosing to bat first. He led from the front making 76* in 53 balls with 7 fours, while Graham Clark made 25, Sean Dickson made 30 and Ben Stokes made 29 in 18 balls with 4 fours and 1 six. Durham made 185/4 in 20 overs.

Ben Stokes then showed his excellence in the field as he took an amazing catch off the bowling of Brydon Carse. Carse got Birmingham Bears opener Ed Pollock to top edge a pull shot and Stokes ran sideways and back for quite some distance to take a tumbling catch to end Pollock’s innings at 19.
