New Zealand opener Devon Conway, on his Test debut in the ongoing match against England at the Lord’s, broke quite a few records on day two. He had already done amazingly well by hitting a century in his first outing in Tests on day one, and continued on day 2 as well, becoming the last Kiwi wicket to fall.

Conway scored a total of 200 runs in his knock, which came in 347 balls with 22 fours and 1 six to his name. He was the last man out with New Zealand's 1st innings closing on 378.

Conway on his way to 200, broke quite a few records, becoming the second New Zealand batsman to hit a double-ton on Test debut after Matthew Sinclair made 214 against the West Indies in 1999.

Overall he became the sixth batsman to hit a double century in his first Test innings, and also broke a 125-year-old record for the highest Test score on debut in England held by K.S. Ranjitsinhji, who scored 154 in Manchester in 1896.

The cricket fraternity was over the moon for Conway, who migrated from South Africa to New Zealand and waited until November 2020 to make his international debut for New Zealand. They took to Twitter and praised him for his record knock.
