Wasim Jaffer hilariously reacts to fan's tweet asking him Pat Cummins’ chances of becoming Australia captain

Due to ball tampering saga, Pat Cummins’ chances of becoming Australian skipper can't be sure as of now.

Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer hilariously reacted to a fan’s tweet who asked his opinion on Australian pacer Pat Cummins’ chances of taking over the leadership of the national side.

The ball-tampering controversy has been taking over headlines for the past couple of days. 

Cameron Bancroft, who was caught using a piece of yellow sandpaper on the ball in the 2018 Newlands Test against South Africa, recently hinted that more players may have been in the loop about ball-tampering.

With current Test captain Tim Paine hinting at retirement after the 2021-22 Ashes, and with recent developments about the Sandpaper Gate scandal, Pat Cummins’ prospects of becoming the next captain are not sure as yet.

In a recent incident, a fan asked former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer on Twitter whether Pat Cummins will go on to lead Australia or not. 

Replying hilariously to which former Indian batsman hinted at the ball-tampering controversy and said chances of Pat Cummins becoming Australian skipper can't be certain for now.

"He's one of the frontrunners. But write his name in the sand and not yet on paper,” Wasim Jaffer replied. He later deleted his tweet.
