Rishabh Pant became the first Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to enter the top ten of ICC Test batting rankings. India captain Virat Kohli is also on the list and has held on to the fifth spot in the latest ICC Test rankings for batsmen.
Delhi Capitals (DC) congratulated Pant for making history and posted a tweet for their captain after he reached yet another milestone in the early stage of his career.
"Career-high ranking ???? A first for an ???????? wicket-keeper ???? Congratulations on making history, @RishabhPant17 ???????? #YehHaiNayiDilli #ICCRankings," DC wrote on Twitter.
Pant has been in terrific touch with the bat in the red-ball cricket. He played a couple of crucial knocks for India on the Australia tour in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy which they won by 2-1.
The southpaw also scored runs in the Test series against England at home and his performances have brought him into the list of top 10 ICC Test batsmen.
