Mumbai Indians (MI) wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock is looking forward to the “big game” against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) to be played on Saturday (May 1) at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
He further said the upcoming IPL 2021 contest between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) is going to be tough and entertaining given the “big rivalry” between the two sides and CSK are entering into the game on the back of thumping victories in their previous matches in the T20 league.
The MI opener further said the defending champions can look at their previous encounters with the CSK led by MS Dhoni to get a psychological boost against table-toppers on Saturday.
De Kock said in the video shared by MI on Twitter: “Obviously playing against Chennai is a big game. It's quite a big rivalry and every time we play against them, you always hear the talk of it. So it is always a big game for us. Saying that, when we do play them, we know they are going to be tough but we'll also be nice and tough. So it will be a good competition, I'm sure.”
The South African star further added, “They (CSK) got a lot of confidence. They have won five games in a row. We are three from six but saying that, in the past, since I've been with Mumbai, we have done really well against Chennai as a team. So it's going to be a good match.”
On the wicket at the Arun Jaitley Stadium for Saturday’s clash against CSK, De Kock said: “It's decent wickets, it's quite skiddy. Not a lot of bounce, but quite skiddy, didn't spin that much. So it's a good wicket I think, some big scores will be put up there.”
While CSK has won their last five games in the ongoing IPL 14, MI returned to winning ways in their last game against Rajasthan Royals after suffering two consecutive defeats and De Kock said they need to take the confidence from the last win against Rajasthan Royals to build up the momentum in the tournament.

The opener further explained, “Our last game which we won was also important and we did it very convincingly. We need to take the confidence going into our next match. I'm not saying we have momentum yet but if there's ever a starting point, it is now for us, for the rest of the tournament.”
The left-hander is not firing all guns in the ongoing IPL 2021, scoring just 117 runs in 5 games but returned back to some form, hitting a fifty against RR to help the MI in winning cause.
De Kock signed off by saying, “It was nice to start batting, to be scoring some runs again for the team. It's only one game but yeah, it was nice playing out there.”
