WATCH - Virat Kohli appeals to citizens of Delhi to follow COVID-19 protocols

India has 1,47,88,109 COVID-19 cases in total and 1,77,150 fatalities thus far.

Virat Kohli | TwitterVirat Kohli, India cricket team captain, was seen in a video posted by the Delhi Police, appealing to the citizens of Delhi to follow the COVID-19 protocols and abide by the strict curfew rules levied by the Arvind Kejriwal government in the national capital.

India is seeing a second and much more potent wave of Coronavirus which has resulted in the country logging over 2.50 lakh cases for the three days in a row. As per the latest data, India has 1,47,88,109 cases in total and 1,77,150 fatalities, this is second only to the United States of America.

The current wave is seeing much more infections, though the fatality rate is the same as before. As precautions, multiple states have resorted to lockdown-like conditions, with severe restrictions on the movement of people and only essential things are being sold like medicine, milk, etc.

Maharashtra has logged the most cases till now at 38,98,262 with over 60,000 people dead. Delhi, for which Virat Kohli recorded the appeal, has seen 8,77,146 cases with over 12,300 people dead.
