England and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batsman Jason Roy has arrived in Chennai on Saturday (April 10) for the ongoing 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) which began on Friday (April 9).
The 30-year-old England opener was signed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) just before the start of the IPL 2021 as a replacement for Mitchell Marsh after the Australian all-rounder opted out of the cash-rich T20 league at the last minute citing personal reasons.
Roy had a base price of INR 2 Crore, and the SRH, the 2016 IPL winners, acquired the right-hander at his base price for the IPL 14. The IPL had revealed the signing of the opener in a media advisory earlier.

The Englishman will now remain in a week-long quarantine as per the BCCI’s SOP before joining the SRH squad to play in the lucrative T20 tournament.
