IPL 2021: KL Rahul joins Punjab Kings in Mumbai ahead of the tournament

Punjab Kings will start their campaign against Rajasthan Royals on 12th April.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper KL Rahul on Friday (2nd April) arrived in Mumbai and joined his team ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

Punjab Kings will start their campaign against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 12 in Mumbai. The KL Rahul led franchise will play their first three games at the Wankhede Stadium before shifting base to Chennai.

With less than 10 days remaining for Punjab Kings’ first fixture, skipper KL Rahul joined the team camp in Mumbai. He will have to quarantine for seven days before he can train with his teammates. The franchise took to their official Twitter handle and posted a picture of the wicketkeeper-batsman.

"The most essential part of #SaddaSquad is here. Tuhadda swagat hai, #CaptainPunjab,” Punjab Kings captioned the picture. 

Even though Punjab Kings failed to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2020, their skipper KL Rahul had a fantastic season, as he finished with the tournament as the top run-scorer. 

The right-handed batsman amassed 670 runs in 14 games at an average of 55.83 that included five half-centuries along with a century.

With no IPL trophies in their cabinet Punjab Kings will be keen to end their title drought in the IPL 2021.
