IPL 2021: "Absolutely devastated and gutted for skipper Shreyas Iyer," says DC owner Parth Jindal

Shreyas Iyer is ruled out of England ODIs and is likely to miss the entire IPL 2021.

Delhi Capitals owner Parth Jindal took to his Twitter and expressed his disappointment over Shreyas Iyer's injury that took place in the first ODI between India and England. 

Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer partially dislocated his left shoulder while fielding during the first ODI between India and England, which hosts won by 66 runs.

He was further taken for scans and was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the ODI series and is likely to miss the first few weeks of IPL 2021 due to the injury.

Addressing Iyer’s injury Delhi Capitals owner Parth Jindal took to his Twitter handle and expressed his disappointment over Iyer’s injury and said that Team India needs Shreyas Iyer for the T20 World Cup, which will take place later this year. 

"Absolutely devastated and gutted for our skipper @ShreyasIyer15 - stay strong captain - hope for a very quick recovery. Have full faith that you will come back even stronger from this. India needs you in the T20 World Cup," Parth Jindal Tweeted. 

Although Delhi Capitals (DC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are yet to release an official statement on how long Iyer will be out of action. The former’s injury can see Shikhar Dhawan or Rishabh Pant lead the Delhi-based franchise in the IPL 2021.
