Wasim Jaffer comes up with a witty name for MS Dhoni's monk avatar

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni's new monk avatar is going viral on social media. Star Sports, the official broadcaster for IPL, had shared the photo with a disclaimer that read: "Set up in a martial arts training camp".

Dhoni can be seen sitting quietly under a tree with a clean shaved head. It got some interesting reactions from the fans on the internet. Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer has also given a witty caption to the picture. 

The CSK captain is popularly known as 'Thala' in South India and Jaffer mixed it up with his latest picture in which he is dressed up like Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet.

Jaffer called Dhoni 'Thalai Lama!' for his new look. The monk-like appearance of the 39-year-old is for the promotional video of the upcoming IPL edition.

The IPL 2021 starts on April 9 in Chennai with the inaugural match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Super Kings will play their first match on April 10 against Delhi Capitals. 

The India Cements-owned franchise has bought K Gowtham (Rs 9.25 crore), Moeen Ali (Rs 7 crore), Cheteshwar Pujara (Rs 50 lakh), K Bhagath Varma (Rs 20 lakh), C Hari Nishaanth (Rs 20 lakh), M Harisankar Reddy (Rs 20 lakh) in the IPL auction 2021.
