Indian cricket fraternity wishes Parthiv Patel as he turns 36

Parthiv Patel had made his India Test debut at the age of 17 in 2002.

Parthiv Patel | RCB TwitterFormer India and Gujarat wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel celebrate his 36th birthday today on March 9, 2021. He was one of the youngest cricketers to make his India debut, as he played his first Test against England in 2002 at the age of 17 years and 153 days.

He went on to play 25 Tests, 38 ODIs, and 2 T20I matches for India from 2002- 2018. He made 934, 736, and 36 runs respectively, and made 112 dismissals behind the stumps.

Parthiv was also a regular feature in the Indian Premier League playing for major teams like Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Deccan Chargers, and others.

He played 139 IPL matches, making 2848 runs with 13 half-centuries and the best score of 81. He also made 85 dismissals as fielder and keeper.

Parthiv also captained Gujarat to Ranji Trophy title win in the 2016-17 season. He also led the team to Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy wins as well.

Parthiv called time on his cricketing career after IPL 2020 and has taken up the role of talent scout with Mumbai Indians.
