Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was in a destructive mood in the third T20I against New Zealand. He smashed 70 runs off 31 deliveries which included five sixes and eight fours.

During his innings, Maxwell took on New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham and scored 28 runs in an over. It was the 17th over of Australia's innings in which he hit 4 fours and 2 sixes.

The first six, which came off the second delivery in the over, broke the backrest of a seat. The match was played behind closed doors after a month-long nationwide lockdown in New Zealand and the seat had to take the blow.

The CEO of the Wellington Regional Stadium, Shane Harmon announced on Twitter that the broken seat will be put on auction. He also asked Maxwell for a signature on the broken seat before being auctioned out for charity.

“Will put this seat up for auction (in) next few days. All proceeds will be donated to Wellington Homeless Women’s Trust. Any chance of a signature Glenn Maxwell?”, Harmon wrote.

Maxwell signed the broken seat and he also posed with it after the match.

The next two matches of the series will be played in Wellington after being moved from Auckland because of the COVID-19.
