Mumbai Indians (MI) recalled Sachin Tendulkar's knock against Pakistan in the World Cup 2003. The 75-ball 98 runs innings completed 18 years on March 1.
Sachin scored those runs under pressure while chasing 274 runs against an attack that had Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar, and Abdul Razzaq. The knock included Sachin's famous six against Shoaib Akhtar.
"Wasim. Waqar. Akhtar. What does a Goat do against a Fire bowling attack? #OnThisDay in 2003, @sachin_rt blasted 98 off 75 in a high-pressure World Cup chase against Pakistan!", MI wrote on Twitter.
They added another tweet to post the highlight of Sachin's innings. "Upper-cuts. Square-cuts. Cover drives. Straight drives. Flicks," the caption read.
Recently, in a chat with R Ashwin on his YouTube channel, former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq called it his best knock according to him. "I have seen Sachin play a lot but the way he batted in that match; I have never seen him play like that before.
"The way he played against our fast bowlers in those conditions was superb. I think he scored 98 before getting out to Shoaib Akhtar," he said.
