India pacer Shardul Thakur left the locals in frenzy on his return from Australia. His welcome at home was covered by the local media, as the neighbors celebrated his arrival with claps and chants of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'.
Indian cricket team stunned Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21 with their fight. It seemed like an easy series win for Australia initially after a thumping win at Adelaide and Virat Kohli's absence for the rest of the matches.
Team India also lost players because of injuries, but despite all the odds, they never bowed down or gave up. The players kept on fighting and the newcomers grabbed the challenge with both hands in absence of senior players.
One of the match winners for India in the series was Thakur. The pacer played only one match, but his contribution was noticeable with bat and ball. He picked up 7 wickets in the match, and also contributed the most runs in the first innings at Gabba.
Former India cricketer Ramesh Powar shared a video of Thakur on his Twitter account. "Welcome back @imShard #IndiavsAustralia", the caption read.
