India and Baroda all-rounder Krunal Pandya shared a heart-wrenching tribute post on his Instagram for his father Himanshu Pandya, who passed away due to cardiac arrest on the morning of January 16 (Saturday)
Krunal Pandya, who was captaining Baroda in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy left the team's secure bio-bubble and headed home after hearing the tragic news of his father, while Hardik Pandya was at home when the tragedy happened.
However after performing the last rites of the his father, Krunal Pandya shared a heartfelt video on his Instagram with long message. He credited his father for his and Hardik’s success and said that father taught him and his brother to believe in themselves like the way he believed in them.
"To Papa, 100 volumes of books won’t be enough to describe you and my feelings. We are standing here because of you. I am here because of you. To lose you is one of the most difficult things to accept for me. You have left us with so many good memories, I can only laugh and smile when I think of you.
You equally worked hard for us to be here. You taught us to believe in ourselves like the way you believed in us. Gonna miss my entertainment source in this house," wrote Krunal Pandya.
Krunal Pandya, 29, revealed his father insisted he click pictures with him before he left to play in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and said that he didn't know it would be their last.
"Fighting with you for fun, irritating you, gossiping, laughing with you, everything about you. Before I left for the tournament you insisted I click a picture with you, you came down with me to do that. I didn’t know it would be our last. I cannot imagine, you have gone and left us with a void which I won’t know how to fill. But I will want to celebrate your life because you lived to the fullest! You will stay with me forever," he wrote.
Krunal further added that their house will not be the same without his father and said that hope he and his brother will keep making him proud.
"This house is not going to be the same without you. We are not going to be the same without you but I know you are going to look after us from up there the way you did when you were here. Thank you for teaching us so much about life.
I hope we keep making you proud all the way through. I will miss you Dhosa! My hardcore old man. My Rockstar and Most of all My teacher," he concluded.
