Umesh Yadav and his wife Tanya Wadhwa have been blessed with a baby girl as the couple announced the arrival of their first child on Friday (January 1). Umesh recently was ruled out of the ongoing four-match Test series in Australia after suffering a calf strain in the Boxing Day Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), which India won by 8 wickets to level the series 1-1.
The 33-year-old fast bowler had departed for India on Wednesday after it was confirmed that he would not recover in time to take any further part in the last two Tests. He was replaced by T Natarajan in the Test squad by BCCI on Friday.

Umesh will soon head to National Cricket Academy (NCA) for his rehabilitation and will be hoping to be fit for the four-match Test series against England at home starting in February. He was in pretty good rhythm in Australia and was expected to play an important role for India with Ishant Sharma and Mohammad Shami already ruled out.
Umesh and Tanya announced the good news on their Instagram pages:
BCCI also congratulated Umesh Yadav on the birth of his baby girl and wished him a speedy recovery from his injury on Twitter. They wrote, "Congratulations to @y_umesh on the birth of a baby girl today. We also wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him soon on the field."
