The Indian team members, many of whom are currently in Melbourne, and others back in India after the white-ball leg of the Australian tour, took to social media and sent across wishes to the fans for a prosperous and wonderful New Year 2021.
Team India drew level in the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test Series with a thumping 8-wicket win in Melbourne Test. They had lost the Adelaide Test by 8 wickets, after being bowled out for their lowest Test innings score of 36.
Earlier, India won the T20I series 2-1 after losing the ODI series 2-1.

However, despite a poor 2020 in terms of Test matches, where India first lost 2-0 to New Zealand in New Zealand and then the COVID-19 pandemic put halt to all other of its plans, Indian team bounced back to end the year on a winning note.
The team will now travel to Sydney for the fourth Test match on January 3, which starts at the SCG on Jan 7. Meanwhile, in a good news, opener Rohit Sharma joined the Indian squad in MCG after completing his 14-day quarantine in Sydney and is expected to play in the SCG Test after being named vice-captain of the team.
