MS Dhoni does not like to stay in the limelight when he is away from the cricket field, and is not known to be very active on social media either anymore, as a result his fans often feel left out when 'Thala' is not playing cricket for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Indian Premier League (IPL).

Ever since CSK's IPL 2020 campaign in the cash-rich T20 league ended with a disappointing seventh position finish, Dhoni has been spending time with his family in Dubai. There was some hope that he would turn up for Jharkhand in the 2021 edition of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy starting next month, but that has now been ruled out.

Dhoni will now shift focus to the 14th edition of the IPL which is set to start in April. There will be a player auction prior to the tournament, and the CSK team management would love to bring in some fresh faces after a jaded campaign in UAE.
