MS Dhoni fans celebrate the 16-year anniversary of his debut in international cricket

On this day, Dhoni made his debut in international cricket against Bangladesh in 2004.

Former India captain MS Dhoni made his international debut 16 years back on December 23, 2004, against Bangladesh in an ODI. Although it wasn't a good start to his career, Dhoni still went on to become one of the best limited-overs batsmen for India.

The Jharkhand cricketer's international career started with a run-out and it also ended with the same dismissal in the World Cup 2019 semifinal. Fans on Twitter celebrated the iconic 16 years of Dhoni in cricket.

The 39-year-old announced his retirement from international cricket earlier this year in August. Dhoni last featured in a competitive cricket match during Indian Premier League 2020 for Chennai Super Kings.
