The Sri Lankan team flew to South Africa on Friday (December 18) morning to play a two-match Test series starting December 26 at SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium, Centurion.
Sri Lanka coach Mickey Arthur has already reached South Africa to make necessary arrangements for the team's arrival for the Test series just after the cancellation of the England ODI series due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
SLC was earlier mulling over canceling the tour, but South African authorities managed to convince the Islanders for the tour amid the COVID-19 scare.
Well, on Friday, Dimuth Karunaratne led 22-member Sri Lanka squad have departed for South Africa to play two Test starting with the first Test on December 26 in Centurion followed by the second and final on January 3-7 at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
Sri Lanka Cricket also shared a number of pictures of the team players on its official Twitter to confirm that the team left for the Test series against South Africa.
