Jaffna Stallions defeat Galle Gladiators by 53 runs to win the inaugural season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL 2020). Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik was also part of the winning side and he contributed 46 runs in the final match.

India ace Tennis player Sania Mirza was delighted with the win and her husband's performance. Malik not only scored runs, but he also picked up 2 wickets in three overs by giving away just 13 runs. 

Jaffna posted a total of 188/6 batting first and defended it easily by restricting the opposition to 135/9 in 20 overs.

"I really enjoyed the tournament. Sometimes you are successful, sometimes you are not, you got to back yourself. The trophy is the biggest thing, that's a big satisfaction. 

"Happy with the performance. Would like to congratulate the Gladiators who played good cricket. We started off really well, but we struggled a bit in the middle part of the tournament. That happens in such tournaments," Malik said after picking up his man-of-the-match award.

Sania reacted to Malik's performance on Twitter with a couple of emojis.
